Home / About
A family spray outfit that has worked the same Palouse wheat country since 1994, run by the pilot whose name is on the airplane.
Fender Air Service, Inc. was incorporated in Colfax in 1994, but the flying goes back further than that. Owner Darrell Fender came up in the ag-spray business the hard way, loading chemical onto airplanes before he was old enough to fly them, earning his private ticket, then his commercial, and putting himself in the cockpit of his own spray plane.
Decades later, it's still a family operation. Darrell flies the airplanes. His wife, Linda, keeps the books and answers the phone. There's no call center and no franchise, when you hire Fender, you get the people whose name is on the door.
What's kept the phone ringing all these years is simple: accurate work, a careful hand around the neighbors, and a straight answer about what we can and can't do.
Home country · Since 1994
Started on the ground loading spray planes, then earned a private and commercial license and began flying ag work.
The operation is incorporated in Washington and settles in at Colfax on the Palouse.
Turbine ag-planes join the fleet alongside the radial Ag-Cat, more payload, more reach, more reliability.
Two bases, a fleet on call and 200,000+ acres a season, flown by the same family that started it.
The man in the cockpit. A commercial ag pilot with a lifetime over the Palouse and a reputation for putting product exactly where it belongs, and nowhere it doesn't.
Vice president, and the voice on the other end of the line. Linda keeps the schedule, the records and the customers straight through the busy season.
“Precision is the whole job. You put it on the crop, and nowhere else.”
— Darrell Fender, Owner & Pilot
